My name is Josef Pečenka and I was born on January 16th 1984 in Zlín. Since early childhood my steps led to my grandfather´s joinery workshop. There, my grandpa´s craft skills , the scent of stand-oil and the beauty of planed wood motivated me to choose my future profession. Between 1999-2002 studied secondary school focused on repairs and making copies of historical furniture in Bystřice pod Hostýnem. All the time, my parents grew love for music in me and my siblings and supported us in playing various musical instruments. This fact, the previous education and fascination for the beauty of bowed string instruments intensified my decision to continue my studies at Violin Making School in Luby u Chebu, which I graduated from, together with completing the masters internship, in 2006. Since then I’ve been making and repairing musical instruments in my workshop in Jasenná in eastern Moravia.
